Libbie has served as the Chief Financial Officer for Mercy Ministries since its inception in 2003. She has served the Sisters of Mercy since 2000 when she was a financial analyst for Mercy Hospital.
Libbie explains that her work fulfulls her because the mission of the Sisters of Mercy extends to the clinic and the shelter.
“I believe in the mission of the clinic, and I find it rewarding to find ways to help those in need,” she said. “Mercy truly cares about their co-workers, and we transfer that same caring to the people we serve at the clinic and the shelter.”
Libbie considers herself a Laredoan, having moved here in 1977 with her husband Alfonso Casso. She has embraced Laredo and served this city in many capacities and is a Life member of the Mercy Health Center Auxiliary, serving as President in 1986. In addition, she is a member and past president of The Society of Martha Washington and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution for which she served as Regent of the Laredo Chapter from 2007-2009.
Libbie received her bachelor's degree in commerce/accounting degree from St. Louis University in
St. Louis, Missouri.
Libbie is the mother of three Julia Muller (Robert), Liz Casso and Alfonso Casso, III and grandmother of two – Aidan and Eva Muller. |
